Here are some of the thoughts and feelings that Room 1 used to describe the feeling of being lost:
sad
lonely
stressed
worried
anxious
I feel like I'm not going to be found
scared someone might take me
I'm crying
time - it always feels like a really long time even if it isn't
We watched a video of Bryan and Bobby and came up with a plan in case we are ever lost.
- Stay Calm
- Find someone responsible who can help you. This might be a shopworker at the mall, a lifeguard at the pool, a security guard at the stadium, a teacher on a school trip or a policeman anywhere.
- Say where you last saw your family.
- Remember your name, address and phone number so they can help you.
The BEST thing you can do is have a PLAN before you get lost. Arrange a place to meet in case you get lost or can't find each other. It might be a landmark that is visible all around (like a light tower) or a place you know really well in the mall.
If you do get separated STAY in that place until your parents come to find you.
