Red Nose Day

The last day of term was Red Nose Day organised by the school council (well done guys!) to raise money for Cure Kids. Everyone was encouraged to wear red clothes and red noses for the day.

Even the teachers wore red noses - some in their own special way.

Learning In Action Photo Competition

We had 2 invited judges come to school and judge the best photos in different year groups that show Learning In Action. They had to choose 4 photos from year 0, 1, and 2; 4 photos from year 3 and 4; and 4 photos from year 5 and 6.

These 12 photos are being put with the best photos in each of these age groups from the schools in our IT cluster in an online gallery. The schools are Plateau, Maoribank, Mangaroa, Boulcott, Maranatha, Normandale, Kilbirnie and Lyall Bay.

Congratulations to Sara, Maia and Joe who's photos were selected in the top 4 for year 3 and 4. Check out their great photos then follow the link to check out the best from the other schools in our cluster.

Charlie's Trip

Charlie went for a trip with his family to the South Island. A highlight was a ride on a jet boat at Hamner Springs. Here are some of the photos he shared with us. Can you spot him on board?

Learning In Action

We have been taking photos of Learning In Action for a school competition. It's great how many of our photos show students working together to learn.
These are the photos the students have chosen to enter into the competition.

Marty's Visit

Today for news John brought his pet cat Marty to visit our classroom.

John got him from the SPCA and he is four and a half months old. Marty has a microchip under his skin so if he gets lost you can find out where he lives. He is called Marty because John's cousin's cat is called Marty as well and they look the same.
The cat has soft fluffy fur and he's got little claws. He looks like Ellie's cat Spuddy. He is a tabby and he has black and grey stripes.
